FocusKitty ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data. By using FocusKitty, you agree to this policy.

1. Information We Collect

a) Information you provide

• Account information: When you sign up with email and password or via Google OAuth, we collect your email address and, if applicable, your Google profile name and profile picture.
• Feedback: If you submit feedback through our feedback form, we collect your name, email, and message.
• Waitlist: If you join our waitlist, we collect your email address.

b) Information collected automatically

• Focus sessions: We store records of your completed Pomodoro sessions, including timestamp, duration, and session type (focus, break). This is the core functionality of the app.
• Usage data: We may collect basic analytics such as page views and feature usage to improve the product. This data is not linked to your identity.
• IP address: We use your IP address solely to detect your country for displaying pricing in your local currency (INR vs USD). This is not stored or shared.

c) Google user data

When you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account email address, display name, and profile picture. We use this data only to create and identify your FocusKitty account. We do not access your Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, or any other Google service data. We do not sell, rent, or share your Google user data with any third parties, except as required to operate the service.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account
• To sync your focus session history across devices
• To send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset)
• To respond to your feedback or support requests
• To notify you when FocusKitty Plus becomes available (if you joined the waitlist)
• To display pricing in your local currency based on your country
• To improve and develop the FocusKitty product

We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell your data. We do not use Google user data for any purpose not described in this Privacy Policy.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a managed database platform hosted on AWS infrastructure. All data is encrypted at rest and in transit using industry-standard TLS/SSL encryption. Access to your data is protected by row-level security policies — your session data can only be accessed by you when authenticated.

While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, no system is completely secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password and to sign out on shared devices.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We only share data with the following trusted service providers, strictly to operate FocusKitty:

• Supabase — Database, authentication, and storage infrastructure
• Resend — Transactional email delivery (confirmation, password reset, waitlist)
• Vercel — Hosting and deployment of the FocusKitty web application
• Google OAuth — Optional sign-in method (only email, name, and profile picture are received)
• Stripe / Razorpay — Payment processing for FocusKitty Plus (when available)

All service providers are bound by their own privacy policies and data processing agreements. We may also disclose data if required by law or to protect our legal rights.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. Your focus session history is stored until you delete your account or request deletion.

You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing us at hello@focuskitty.app. We will process deletion requests within 30 days. After deletion, your data is permanently removed.

Waitlist email addresses are retained until FocusKitty Plus launches or until you unsubscribe, whichever comes first.

6. Cookies and Local Storage

FocusKitty uses browser local storage to save your preferences (theme, view mode, timer settings) and session history when you are not signed in. This data never leaves your device unless you sign in, at which point it is migrated to your account.

We use authentication cookies set by Supabase to keep you signed in across sessions. These are essential cookies necessary for the service to function and cannot be disabled while using the authenticated features of the app.

We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.

7. Children's Privacy

FocusKitty is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data
• Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Portability: Request an export of your session data in a machine-readable format
• Objection: Object to processing of your personal data

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If we make significant changes, we will notify you by email (if you have an account) or by displaying a notice in the app. Your continued use of FocusKitty after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
